This conflict has been going on for years and years, it didn't just start 18 days ago.
According to a UN report in May 2007:
*two-thirds of Palestinians were unemployed. *70% of Palestinian households were in poverty by December 2006 - largely as a result of occupation and sanctions.
*46% of Palestinian families couldn't afford the minimum amount of food needed to survive. Even in 2004, before the current sanctions, many Palestinians suffered malnutrition and hunger. Most Palestinian families had to line up in food queues to get one meal a day even before the current sanctions! So you see, this is not something new.

As i was reading some comments made by many supporters of Israel in the site Palestine VS Israel,i noticed that many of them kept mentioning over and over again that Israel has been suffering for 8 years from rocket attacks from Hamas! I find it heartbreaking to watch the news and see what Israel are doing in Gaza. These people have suffered enough. In my opinion Israel must talk to Hamas and reach a peaceful solution to the problems so that these people can try to rebuild their lives and their country.
