Jordan is The Oscar Locker! "The Hurt Locker" wins 6 Oscar Academy Awards, Movie Director Thanks Jordanians!
Posted on 3/09/2010 by Rani Dababneh

In one of the world's biggest events, on one of the most significant stages, and next to Hollywood Red Carpet, shortly after becoming the first woman to win the Best Director in the Oscar Award's History, "The Hurt Locker" director - Kathryn Bigelow - thanked Jordanians and paid tribute to the Kingdom of Jordan and its hospitality.
As she paid in her acceptance speech: "If I could just thank the people of Jordan who were so hospitable to us when we were shooting." Bigelow, who spent two months filming in Jordan - summer of 2007, has previously said: "You could look 360 degrees in any given day of the shoot and it would be perfect. Shooting in Jordan was a great experience. It's very cosmopolitan; they have a very rich film school and a young film infrastructure.”
More than 150 Jordanian actors and crew worked on The Hurt Locker set, in addition to some 70 film professionals, the Royal Film Commission (RFC) said.

"The Hurt Locker" won Oscars for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Sound Mixing, Best Sound Editing and Best Film Editing.
Jordan has an established track record providing the background for Oscar-winning movies. following "Lawrence of Arabia", directed by David Lean, won seven Oscars in 1963, while Steven Spielberg’s film "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" received one Oscar in 1990.
So Jordan has proved a great deal of filming capabilities, so we hope all of these achievements would be channeled to help the Jordanian Filming Industry to create great Jordanian Movies. besides, spreading more positive energy for all industry leaders to invest in our great country Jordan.

I loved this movie. I'm looking forward to getting it on dvd
Also not to forget that one of Jordan's brilliant sound people: Bahaa Othman was actually mentioned in the ceremony which is quite a big deal. BTW he is a lecturer at the Red Sea Institute of Cinematic Arts based in Aqaba (www.rsica.edu.jo)
This film won six Oscars, and for good reason. Jordan was a great place to shoot this movie. Jordan should be proud. Very good movie.
The 2nd picture(bombing picture) looks real. I'm unable to move my eyes from that picture. It deserves the Oscar awards.
The Hurt Locker is the one of the most original story of our times. There's nothing rehash or recycled about its theme. Good job!
It was well deserved! I thought the film was fantastic.
