His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein - President of the Jordan Olympic Committee - honored Jordan Basketball National Team which qualified for Basketball World Championship after winning the third place in Asia Championship in a big ceremony yesterday, thanked the Heroes and motivated them to do even a better job at Basketball World Championship next year 2010 in Turkey.

He also rewarded them with around 279.000 JDs, 10.000 JDs for each player and 120.000 for coach Palma.

عمان - كرم سمو الأمير فيصل بن الحسين رئيس اللجنة الأولمبية أمس أعضاء المنتخب الوطني لكرة السلة الحائز على برونزية بطولة آسيا ال 25 التي اختتمت منافساتها في مدينة تيان جين الصينية الأسبوع الماضي والمتأهل لنهائيات كأس العالم التي تستضيفها تركيا العام القادم.
وسلم سموه خلال الحفل الذي أقيم في قاعة يا هلا بمدينة الحسين للشباب مكافآت مالية مجزية للاعبين والجهازين الاداري والفني، بلغ مجموعها (279) ألف دينار، بمعدل عشرة آلاف دينار لكل لاعب وهم .. زيد الخص، سام دغلس، أيمن دعيس، زيد عباس، اسلام عباس، انفر شوابسوقه، فضل النجار، وسام الصوص، موسى العوضي، محمد حمدان، جمال ابو شماله، راشيم رايت وجمال المعايطة، ولم يحضر الأخيران الحفل لوجودهما خارج البلاد، ونال المدير الفني البرتغالي ماريو بالما مكافأة بلغت نحو 120 ألف دينار، كما حصل مدير الفريق - رئيس الوفد ينال الخص وأعضاء الجهاز التدريبي ماريو جوميش ويوسف أبو بكر ورسلان شوابسوقه على تكريم مميز .
وأشاد سمو الأمير فيصل بعطاء النجوم والتزامهم وحرصهم على تمثيل وطنهم بأفضل صورة، كما أثنى على جهود الجهاز الفني والاداري.
وخاطب سموه اللاعبين قائلا: حققتم انجازا رائعا وقطعتم خطوة مهمة على بداية الطريق، ونطمح للمزيد في المرحلة القادمة.
ووفقا لمستشار اللجنة الأولمبية وليد أبو عبيد، جدد سمو الأمير فيصل الثقة بالجهاز التدريبي والاداري والفريق، مبينا أنه سيتم توفير الدعم اللازم للمنتخب الذي بات يحمل الصفة العالمية.
وكانت لانا الجغبير أمين عام اللجنة الأولمبية استهلت الحفل بكلمة موجزة قالت فيها ان الانجاز يعتبر ثمرة لدعم واهتمام سموكم بالرياضة، ولما من جهد متواصل في سبيل تطورها.
وأعرب عملاق ارتكاز المنتخب الوطني أيمن دعيس في تصريح الى الرأي عن عميق شكره وامتنانه للتكريم الذي حظي به المنتخب الوطني من سمو الأمير فيصل.

Jordan Basketball forced a Jordanian Dream comes true, as Jordan National Team qualified to FIBA World Championship [World Cup] - for the first time ever - in 2010 which takes place in Turkey.

Jordan Basketball National Team secured a place at the biggest and strongest basketball tournament ever -FIBA World Championship - after winning the 3rd place in FIBA Asia Championship scoring a great victory over Lebanon 80-66. though the Jordanian Team had even a better chance to be also FIBA Asia Champions, but they hardly lost the semi final game in the last seconds by 2 points [75-77] to Iran who are announced as Asia Champions now as they won over China in the Final Game 70-52.

This great achievement of the Jordan National Team is a result of great efforts done by every single player as they all were enthusiastic to win to prove to the world that Jordan can do it, they all showed a great sense of the team and passions to Jordan even the only American player in the team Rasheim Wright who cried after the game, and he also won the Best Scorer in Asia Championship with 20.7 PPG average Points Per Game.

The Jordanian Royal Family, Queen Rania of Jordan, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal Ibn Al Hussein, the regent, His Royal Highness Prince Hamzah bin al Hussein, all called the Jordan basketball team: "Heroes", and said their qualification to the world cup was an achievement and a source of Pride for all Jordanians. Go to World Championship and make us even more proud.

Jordan Team deserves to qualify more than any other team: Palma

Unlike many others who might have reveled basking in the glory of the maiden medal at the FIBA Asia Championship, the Jordan coach walked out of the court telling his spearhead Sam Daghles, “We need to discuss our plans for the next season. We need to discuss a lot with Zain and ASU (the leading clubs in the Jordanian league).”
Such was the man’s focus on the job ahead.
Excerpts from Palma’s comments after winning the bronze

On the bronze medal play off
Our players were not nervous and were focused on the job at hand. We decided to fight from the first minute to the last.
We played a great game on defense, we played a great game in organization in offense, we played a great game on fast breaks and most importantly we had a great desire to win.

On Jordan’s performance overall
We came here wanting to qualify. Our target was Turkey when we landed in Tianjin.
But through the course of the Championship we started to believe that we could win the Championship. And last night we almost close towards our goal.
But when we lost the semifinal, unlike many other teams we were not outraged. We were disappointed for sure, but we knew we couldn’t lose focus.
And then it was easier to go back to our original goal.
I think that was the main reason why we could play better than them (Lebanon) tonight.

On Jordan’s progress in Asian basketball
When I arrived in Jordan Jordan was 68th in the FIBA ranking. Last time we moved up to the 40s. And now I’ms sure we would have moved a lot higher.

On the team
We had a team that played excellent basketball. We made everybody look up. We made everybody talk about us. And I’m very happy, because we have worked together for three years and it has finally borne fruit.
This team has sacrificed a lot. They have spent months away from the family either playing tournaments or in training.
We have spent more time in hotels and (air) planes. I think this team deserved more than any other team here to the world championship.

On Jordan’s preparatory path to Turkey
We are just not going to the World Championship to make the numbers.
We are going to play hard.

Ayman Idais, Wright take Jordan to Turkey

TIANJIN (FIBA Asia Championship) - Ayman Idais and Rasheim Wright scythed through the rival defence during each other’s slump in form to help Jordan to an 80-66 win over fellow West Asian nation Lebanon in the bronze medal play-off on Sunday.
The win helped the Mario Palma trained Jordan to book their entry into the 2010 FIBA World Championship in Turkey.
“We have been working on this for the last three years,” Jordan coach Mario Palma said.
“I think Jordan came into Tianjin as one of the teams capable of winning the Championship. We fell short in that, but today we were focused,” Palma said.
Lebanon finished without a medal for the first time in three championships, having bagged with the silver in both 2005 and 2007 FIBA Asia Championships.
Jordan had never beaten Lebanon coming into this Championship – having lost all their three previous encounters – but in Tianjin, Jordan opened their campaign with an 84-67 win over Lebanon and finished it beating the same rivals.
“What matters is the timing of the win,” bemoaned Lebanon coach Dragan Raca said.
Wright shrugged off a second quarter strife to find rhythm and led the scoring for the game with 28 points, in a 55% field record (9/14), including a 2/6 in three-pointers.
Wright also had five rebounds – four in defence – and five assists.
Idais stepped up when Wright struggled and returned a 20-point haul.
Idais converted only one of his three two-pointer attempts, but shot down an incredible 6/8 in the long rangers.
Fortunes in the early part of the game resembled the Tianjin Eye with the teams gaining absolute control of the proceedings, when their offensive plays worked only to start going down, allowing the rivals to come up similar scoring sprees.
Wright contributed five as Jordan scored the first 10 points of the game, but Lebanon hit back with a 19-0 run to close the first quarter 19-10 ahead.
Fadi El Khatib who opened the scoring for Lebanon converting his twin free-throws went on to add four more and Jackson Vroman combined to a nicety in the paint for Lebanon to take this lead, which only piqued Jordan to fight back yet again.
“I think our team took it for granted at that point. They thought they had won the game already and became complacent,” Raca said.
Idais sank two silken three-pointers and Sam Daghles added another as Jordan blitzed the latter part of the second quarter with a 13-1 run to head into the locker rooms with a 36-28 lead.
Idais who drew a blank in the 3:46 he played in the first quarter, had 15 points in the second quarter, all of them coming in three-pointers out of a six attempts.
Wright added only two points, but effected four assists in the second quarter.
But the former Tulsa 66ers guard, exploded with customary fluency in the third quarter accounting for 13 points, in a 5/7 field record including finding the mark in his only three-pointer attempt during this time.
That surge kept Jordan in good stead till the final buzzer.
“The difference between yesterday and today was that we got those shots in which we were missing yesterday,” Palma said.
“After the loss yesterday, we watched the second semifinal and the players told each other ‘C’mon let’s forget it and move ahead. We have Turkey in our sight,” said Jordan guard Sam Daghles.
Vroman ploughed a rather lonely, and therefore, losing furrow for Lebanon with 18 points.
Fadi El Khatib shot a woeful 3/10 in field attempts for his 13 points and Rony Fahed had as many points.

في حين قام بعمل إعداد ومعالجة وتطوير كلماتها الشاعر ماجد زريقات في حين قام العبداللات نفسه بإضافة جمل موسيقية جديدة في اللحن، بينما وزعها موسيقياً الموزع الأردني وائل الشرقاوي بأسلوب شبابي وحديث لكي يناسب جميع الأذواق،أما الاشراف الفني عليها فكان للمنتج الفني حازم العساف، والمنتج المنفذ لها كان لأحمد العبداللات.
ومن ناحية أخرى يستقبل العبداللات حالياً موسماً فنياً حافلاً حيث يستعد للمشاركة في مجموعة كبيرة من المهرجانات العربية وسيقوم بجولة فنية موسعة تشمل معظم دول الخليج العربي ومصر ولبنان وعدد من دول المغرب العربي، كما سيتوجه إلى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية حيث سيزور خلالها عدد من الولايات لإحياء حفلات فيها بدعوة من الجاليات العربية فيها.

Dababneh Family Page Success Story - They met after 30 Years!!!

I was so glad that I received couple of special comments on our Dababneh Family Page, that made it true for couple of friends to meet after 30 years through my Dababneh Page.


One has posted a comment [April 5, 2009] asking for her friend whom she lost since 1980. A month later, [May 2, 2009] the intended lost friend replied that she has read her friend's comment and actually met her.

نص خطاب الملك عبدالله: ما في قوة بتقدر تفرض علينا اي شي ضد مصالح الأردن والأردنيين - من يتحدث عن ضعف الأردن لا يعرف الأردن والوحدة الوطنية خط احمر

نص خطاب ملك الأردن عبدالله الثاني في إجتماع القياده العامه للقوات المسلحه:
كفى يا أصحاب الأجندات المشبوهة - ما في قوة بتقدر تفرض علينا اي شي ضد مصالح الأردن والأردنيين - من يتحدث عن ضعف الأردن لا يعرف الأردن والوحدة الوطنية خط احمر

أكد جلالة الملك عبدالله الثاني امس الاول ضرورة تصدي جميع مؤسسات الدولة للإشاعات التي يطلقها أصحاب أجندات خاصة ومشبوهة بهدف الإساءة للأردن واستقراره.

وقال جلالته، خلال اجتماع في القيادة العامة للقوات المسلحة، إن الرسالة للجميع الآن أنه "يكفي وعلى كل مؤسسات الدولة، الحكومة والأعيان والنواب والصحافة، على الجميع، أن يتحملوا مسؤولياتهم ويتصدوا لهذا المرض ولأصحاب الأجندات الخاصة والمشبوهة" والتعامل بحزم مع المشككين الذين يريدون الإساءة للبلد.

وأكد جلالته أن تمسك الأردن بحق اللاجئين في العودة والتعويض موقف ثابت لن يتغير وأن لا قوة قادرة على أن تفرض على الأردن أي موقف يتعارض مع مصالحه.

وقال "إني تابعت الكلام حول موضوع اللاجئين وهذا كلام مؤسف، موقفنا من موضوع اللاجئين لن يتغير وتمسكنا بحق العودة والتعويض موقف ثابت لا نقاش فيه".

وزاد جلالته "أقول مرة أخرى وبشكل واضح ما في قوة قادرة على أن تفرض علينا أَي شيء ضد مصالح الأردن والأردنيين".

وأشار جلالته إلى إنه على مدى تعامله مع الإدارات الأميركية المتعددة لم تضغط أي منها على الأردن في موضوع اللاجئين.

وقال جلالته "إن الذي يتحدث عن تهديد للأردن وهوية الأردن واستقرار الأردن وعن تهديد لوحدتنا الوطنية لا يعرف الأردن ولا يعرف الأردنيين ولم يقرأ تاريخهم".

وشدد جلالته خلال الاجتماع، الذي حضره سمو الأمير فيصل بن الحسين ورئيس هيئة الأركان المشتركة الفريق أول الركن خالد جميل الصرايرة ورؤساء الهيئات والمفتش العام وكبار الضباط، على أن الأردن هو الأقرب للأشقاء الفلسطينيين وأنه سيستمر في حماية حقوقهم وتقديم كل ما يستطيع من دعم لهم من أجل قيام دولتهم المستقلة في أقرب وقت ممكن.

وحذر جلالته من أي محاولة للإساءة للوحدة الوطنية، مشددا على أن "الوحدة الوطنية خط أحمر ولن نسمح لأحد في الداخل أو الخارج أن يسيء إليها" لافتا إلى أن أكثرية من يحاول الإساءة هم للأسف في الداخل وهذا "عيب وحرام".



وأشار جلالته إلى أنه كان حذّر من استمرار الإشاعات وإلى أن الذين يطلقونها هم ذاتهم في الصالونات ومن ورائهم، مستذكرا ما رافق إطلاق مشروع اللامركزية من إشاعات سعت إلى إخافة الناس وتحذيره آنذاك من إعادة إطلاق الإشاعات المخربة في المستقبل.

وحذر جلالته أن هنالك من يسعى إلى التخريب "ولن نسمح لهم بتخريب مستقبل الأردن".

وقال جلالة الملك "الحمد لله الريف والبادية والمخيمات خارج" دائرة الإشاعات التي تبدأ في الصالونات السياسية في عمان ومن يقف وراءها "وأن المواطن الأردني الذي أعرفه لا يستمع إلى هذه الإشاعات".

وأكد جلالته أن الأوضاع تسير بشكل جيد رغم التحديات الإقليمية، وأنه مستمر بالعمل مع الأشقاء العرب والدول الصديقة لتجاوز التحديات الاقتصادية التي تواجه الأردن.

ولفت جلالته إلى أن "وضعنا على مستوى العالم جيد جدا وإلى أن العلاقات مع الأشقاء العرب ممتازة وهم لا يقصرون معنا ويحاولون أن يساعدونا".

وقال جلالته إنه متفائل بالمستقبل "ولا تخوف حول مستقبل الأردن" وطالب الجميع في مواقع المسؤولية بذل أقصى طاقاتهم لخدمة الوطن.

وأشار جلالته إلى أنه كان خلال السنوات العشر الماضية يضغط من أجل تحقيق النتائج والإنجاز في أسرع وقت ممكن إلا أنه كان هنالك بطء في التنفيذ من قبل بعض الحكومات والمسؤولين السابقين يجب تجاوزه.

وقال جلالته خلال الاجتماع مع ضباط القوات المسلحة إن عملية المراجعة التي كان تحدث عنها تستهدف تسريع العمل وتحسين الأداء وهي عملية يومية ومستمرة من أجل تحقيق الأفضل والوصول إلى الطموحات، مضيفا جلالته أن هذه المراجعة هي لأدوات العمل وليس للرؤية والثوابت.

وأكد جلالته ثقته العالية بالقوات المسلحة قائلا "أنا اليوم بين أصدقائي وإخواني وأنا مرتاح بوجودي بينكم وكل الثقة والمعنوية للقوات المسلحة".

وتطرق جلالته إلى الخطط التي تستهدف خلال العامين المقبلين توفير أفضل المعدات للقوات المسلحة والاستمرار في تطويرها، إضافة إلى تحسين الأوضاع المالية للضباط والأفراد ولكل شرائح المجتمع ومواجهة ظاهرتي الفقر والبطالة.

وكان جلالة الملك عبدالله الثاني اجتمع مع رئيس هيئة الأركان المشتركة وبحث معه الاستراتيجيات والخطط المستهدفة الاستمرار في تطوير القوات المسلحة وتلبية احتياجاتها وعددا من الأمور التي تهم القوات المسلحة. المصدر: بترا

قال مدير الاعلام الناطق الاعلامي في المديرية العامة للدفاع المدني العقيد فريد الشرع ان كوادر الدفاع المدني تقوم منذ الساعة الرابعة من صباح اليوم الخميس بمكافحة حريق شب بسوق البخارية مقابل المسجد الحسيني بمنطقة وسط البلد .

وبين الشرع ان المبنى الذي شب به الحريق مكون من اربعة طوابق مشيرا الى ان السوق يحتوي على مستودعات ومحلات تجارية .

واوضح انه لم يرد معلومات عن وجود اصابات , ومساحة الحريق ,واسباب اندلاعه غير معروفة حتى الان .
