Alexa Rating: What the Hell is Wrong with You? again and again!!

Alexa Ratings from the famous Alexa Traffic Rank website, offering a website rank for all these websites on the internet, is not supposed to be that accurate as there's no script to be included for Alexa in our websites to count the number of daily visitors accurately.
Though, it should be acting as a good indicator for the traffic you get Per Day, Per Week and Per 3 Months Average as the categories they provide, but recently things are really missed up at Alexa Ratings as am getting feedback from many webmasters and as I experienced this inaccurate information from Alexa personally.
Below you will see 2 graphs for Web Analytics, one for the perfectly accurate traffic statistics from Google Analytics, and another one for my Alexa Graph for the last 2 months! so take a look down and note the huge difference in the last month June 2008:

The peek at the last week of May was considered and everything was cool with Alexa until the 1st of June where Visitors were increasing and my Google Analytics was showing that and going North, but my Alexa Line was surprisingly going South!!
Analyzing the last month traffic I got, it was mainly from Search Engines - Google Organic - so the analysis I can make here is either Alexa Rating doesn't like or consider traffic you get by Search Engines and counts Referral Traffic only, which is a huge problem if true! or it's just that Alexa Algorithm is screwed and not functioning correctly for maintenance reasons or so!
So in this case I hope Alexa Algorithm is just screwed for now and will be back soon! as it is considered as a Public Web Analytics or a Public Indicator for Websites Traffic!

I test Google analytic you can do too,
and is innacurate don't detect all the visit.
Alexa is showing inaccurate result for you it should be a question but some of my web site which I am monitoring or my competitors all are growing.
Alexa is a waste of time trying to indicate anything.
The problem with Alexa is that they track people based on who has the Alexa toolbar in their browser.
you could easily get completely inaccurate results from them.
Analytics on the other hand, is awesome
Personally, I take Alexa with a grain of salt. Sometimes we worry too much about what Alexa is doing but these days I've found that if you ignore it and do your best at "white hat" optimization the traffic eventually flows in. It is as good general, non-specific indicator, say if the traffic is going up or down, but to make money-decisions based on Alexa rankings is not necessary.
Personally I use AWStats for any sort of accurate site traffic metrics, it installs on your server (which I know you can't do with blogger) and reads from the server logs.
Also, note that a lower rank with Alex is desirable, so...
I have also found this to be a huge discrpency! Alexa I think has seen it's best days unless they do a major overhaul on how they get their stats. Ever since beginning SEO and SEM I have never watched Alexa and the people I talk to are doing the same.. Good article and debate!
friend of mine told me alexa is not too important and that its mainly just for looks. i do think it is a neat place to learn things but i dont worry over what they say :)
that is really important. i saw when compare my sites in alexa. in google analytics data my first site have too many visitors then other site, but alexa give second site is more popular then first.
I think that Alexa only counts visits by those with Alexa ToolBar and also definitely gives more credits to referral traffic than google searches which is crazy because we are all trying to get as much search engine traffic as possible.I have this same problem.One of my sites which only gets referral traffic is ranked much higher than the one with search engine traffic.They are both exactly the same in terms of everything else like age,etc...
I don't seem to get anywhere with Alexa, maybe non of my visitors have the toolbar!!! lol
