Yearly Mandatory Money Deduction - Deducting 1 Jordanian Dinar of each Mobile Credit!
Posted on 3/01/2008 by Rani Dababneh
While struggling through all life issues, you happily hear a message ring tone coming from your mobile, you open it hoping to find something interesting, but you get shocked reading a nice message giving you the great news of deducting 1 JD from your mobile credits to help Universities in Jordan!
"بناء على تعليمات وزارة الماليه تم خصم دينار رسوم جامعة من رصيدك"
Well, I already went to the University of Jordan, and I already paid all the rates I should pay (my parents thankfully did), and I received no help from anyone else, though I got a really high GPA! Even the rates I paid were so high according to a governmental university (like 46 JDs per Credential Hour) though my high school grade allowed me to register through the formal competitive zone!!So the process is that I got rewarded for paying the full rates of my study and getting a high GPA, by paying even more money to help universities (2 JDs per year as I am having two Mobile numbers)
I am really not against this procedure of collecting little amount of money from all mobile holders, but I need to see the benefits of the collected money, but this is not really the case as rates per credential hours are increased in universities instead of decreasing them by collecting this huge amount of money every year - around 10.000.000 $ US Dollars per year - I guess this huge number can really help many students, or can even build a new university!
Finally I would really hope not to be disconnectedly alone and isolated in some wild region or desert having only 1 JD credit in my mobile when surprisingly time would come for the next deduction.

I feel you. I can't but hope that this JD 1 will be used to improve facilities in the university and go toward increasing salaries as they are terribly low.
The only public Jordanian university illi meezaniyyit-ha mish "kteer" bil saleb hiyyeh il Ordoniyyeh, il ba2i kul saneh binkisrou bizyadeh but the government won't shut them down of course, around 200,000 Jordanians attend those universities, so how can we keep those universities up and running?? If you can afford a mobile phone then you surely can afford to pay 8 piasters every month to help 200,000 students around the kingdom. Right?? Plus, a lot of improvements are being made to the JU, for instance, free language courses every student can enroll in and so much more!
ur right and as i said am not against this procedure but all what am askin for is to see the benefits of the collected money!
